MIRIAN OSISIOGU FROM ABSU LAW CLINIC-SELF REFLECTION

The ABSU law clinic sent about 8 delegates to the human right law office,  Umuahia. This was done as instructed by NULAI as part of the project.
I, and some other Clinicans went to inform them of the reason for the advocacy visit to their law office and their involvement in the project.
On the said day of the visit, the ABSU law clinicians arrived at the office by 8:00am only to meet an empty office. We were welcomed in and informed by the secretary that the lawyer who headed the office in the person of Onyekwere ESQ. had a matter that morning at the High Court Umuahia. So we relax and waited for his arrival.
On his arrival he educated us on the reason for the advocacy visit and on the topic of pre trial detainees using instances from most human rights cases he had handled.  He also told us to always feel free to ask for his assistance anytime. However,  we also received criticism that we where we should concentrate on our studies and forget about the practical aspect of law as we will do it doing our law school.
Furthermore, the advocacy visit was quite educating and very enlightening and also received encouraging words from Onyekwere Esq. to keep up the good work.
