Saabirah Jimoh Oyiza from Nasarawa Law Clinic:Reflection

I write as a participant of the project From Nasarawa state university keffi, faculty of law. Being the first ever project I handled with the school’s law clinic, it was full of experience. I learnt quiet a lot and I hope to learn even more.
Upon visiting the prisons, I realized that not everything is at it seems. Many innocent people were in there while some inmate were even enjoying their stay there. Some people have been there for years and have never even gone to court. Some inmates didn't even know they could be bailed. Some have accepted their fate to be there forever. Some lacked legal representations and those were the cases we took up.
At the end of the project, my school law clinic with the help of Nulai were able to grant bail for some inmates while some cases are still being handled. I have learnt some practical aspect of my studies and I believe without the project I might have not been able to go into a prison to visit inmates and try to help them out. I also might not have learnt some court processes at the level I am now. Thank you.
