After visiting Kuje and Suleja Prisons by the University of Abuja Law Clinic. Each team of the Clinicians interviewed a number of inmates. At the subsequent case conferencing, the clinicians compiled a number of cases that requires verification of certain inmate information and went back to both prisons to requests further details from the inmates records in the prison. Both prisons requested for time and after 2weeks, none of the prisons could account for more  than half of the list given to them.

The bottom line is the prisons have no up to date records of their holding and people are just hoarded to prisons without proper records.  The lesson here is clinicians should watch out for these type of cases and ask courts to strike the cases and release the inmates for lack of diligent prosecution.
